Engineering Physics Course: Degree, NPTEL or a Paid Batch?
An engineering physics course can mean a B.Tech degree or the first-year subject. For the subject at Mumbai or Pune university, compare language, price and access end date before buying.

The short answer
For first-year Engineering Physics at Mumbai University or SPPU, our pick is our own Engineering Physics course by Rahul Jewaani: ₹1,299 (list price ₹1,599), in Hindi, valid till 30 June 2027, as of 30 October 2026. A B.Tech in Engineering Physics is a degree, not a course you buy online. Before paying, check language, access end date, module titles, the university and year on the title, and what the price includes.

How to choose
- 1
Is the course in a language you follow comfortably?
Pass: you can watch a free sample lecture, if the page offers one, without pausing every few minutes to translate. If there is no sample, watch the first five minutes of any YouTube lecture by the same teacher. Fail: you are decoding the language instead of the physics. Our course is in Hindi and LMT's is in English. - 2
Does access last past your exam?
Pass: the access end date falls after your end-semester theory exam, which your college timetable shows. Our Mumbai University 2026-27 course is valid till 30 June 2027. The Pune University course page does not show an end date as of 30 October 2026, so check it there before buying. Fail: the page shows no end date, or one before your exam. In that case ask for the date in writing before paying. - 3
Do the module titles match your syllabus?
Pass: the course code and first module title in your university syllabus match the course's first module, and no module you are examined on is missing from the course. Fail: any examined module has no lecture. Our Engineering Physics 1 syllabus guide shows how to find your syllabus by course code. If a quantum chapter is the gap, our guides on the De Broglie wavelength formula and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle cover two of its common numericals. - 4
Is the course labelled for your university and academic year?
Pass: the course title names your university and the current year, as ours do ("Mumbai University (2026-27)" and "Pune University (2026-27)"). Fail: the title names a different university or no year, which means you are guessing that the syllabus matches. - 5
What does the price include, and do you need the rest?
Pass: you can list what you get (lectures, notes, assessments, certificate) and everything you need is on the list. Our course includes video lectures and study notes. LMT's includes assessments and offline access but no certificate. Fail: you pay for something you will not use, or assume something is included that is not listed.
Key takeaways
- For first-year Engineering Physics at Mumbai University or SPPU, our pick is our own Engineering Physics course by Rahul Jewaani: ₹1,299 (list price ₹1,599), in Hindi, valid till 30 June 2027, as of 30 October 2026.
- A B.Tech in Engineering Physics is a degree with its own curriculum, not a course you buy online. IIT Guwahati's structure puts Physics-1 in a 49-credit first semester (credits are the weighting a university gives each subject).
- RG Lectures' Engineering Physics course includes video lectures and study notes, and access runs to 30 June 2027 for the Mumbai University version, as of 30 October 2026.
- Before paying, check five things: language, access end date, module titles against your syllabus, the university and year on the course title, and what the price includes.
Which engineering physics course do you need: a degree, the first-year subject or a video course?
You need the first-year subject if you are already in a B.Tech and have an Engineering Physics 1 paper. You need the degree route if you are choosing what to study after Class 12. A video course only helps the first group. Use this table.
The curriculum pages named in the table are IIT Guwahati and IIT Patna; the syllabus guide is our Engineering Physics 1 syllabus guide.
The degree and the subject share a name, and that is where searches go wrong. IIT Guwahati's B.Tech Engineering Physics structure lists Physics-1 in a 49-credit first semester and Physics-II in a 46-credit second semester, alongside mathematics, chemistry and engineering mechanics. The subject you sit in first year is one paper inside a programme like that.
- Your situation
- Choosing a degree after Class 12 and curious about a B.Tech in Engineering Physics
- The route that fits
- The degree. Read the curriculum pages of the IITs that run it, such as IIT Guwahati and IIT Patna. It is a programme you are admitted to, not a course you buy.

How do the options compare on price, language and what you get?
RG Lectures' Engineering Physics course is the best fit for Mumbai University and SPPU first-year students: ₹1,299 as of 30 October 2026, in Hindi, with video lectures, study notes and access to 30 June 2027 (Mumbai University version). The Pune University course page does not show an access end date as of 30 October 2026, so check it on the course page before buying. If you are deciding whether Engineering Mechanics belongs in your plan too, our first-year engineering classes guide walks through that choice, and our Engineering Mechanics SPPU course page covers that subject. A Pune University version is sold alongside the Mumbai course.
If a quantum chapter is the gap in your course, our guides on the De Broglie wavelength formula and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle cover two of its common numericals.

How we built this list
Run these five checks, each a pass or fail you can test in a few minutes; together they catch most bad purchases: the wrong language, the wrong syllabus, or access that ends before your exam. The ranking covers the Last Moment Tuitions, Vidyalankar, Ganitank, NPTEL and Dr. Khalkar options alongside our own course, with prices as of 30 October 2026 from each provider's own page. RG Lectures publishes this page and is one of the courses ranked.
This page is published by Rg lectures. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
