Prepare the result, key and template
Open the completed mock’s result screen and its answer key or solutions. Put the PCM error-log template beside them and set a 45-minute timer. Do not begin until all three are visible, because an error log needs both your answer and the correct explanation.

Separate Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Create separate rows or tabs for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics before judging individual questions. Keep the subjects separate even if the mock shows one total score. You should now be able to see which subject contains each question you need to review.
The MHT-CET question, marks and time format is useful context for keeping those three records separate.

Log every non-secure answer
Add one row for every incorrect answer, unattempted question and answer you got right only by guessing. Write the subject, question number and status first. The completed list should show every question that did not demonstrate a secure method, not only the questions marked wrong.

Choose one primary reason for each row
For each logged question, choose the main reason: concept gap, calculation mistake, misread question or time pressure. Add the chapter or concept in your own words. Pick one primary reason rather than several, so the next action stays clear.

Write one repair action
Turn every reason into one specific task. A concept gap can become a focused revision of the exact concept; a calculation mistake can become a fresh solve of a similar question; a misread can become a slower reread before solving; time pressure can become a timed reattempt. You should be able to tell exactly what to do next from each row.

Schedule a blind retry
Add a date when you will reattempt the question or a similar one without looking at the solution. Mark the row complete only after that retry. Your error log now functions as a repair list between mocks, rather than a record of old scores.

Keep the review tied to the paper structure
For the 2026 exam, the Maharashtra State CET Cell information brochure sets PCM as a 180-minute test: Physics and Chemistry are available for the first 90 minutes and auto-submit before Mathematics opens for the next 90 minutes. Physics and Chemistry questions carry one mark, Mathematics questions carry two marks, and there is no negative marking.
Use separate Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics rows in the error log. A combined score can hide whether a problem came from the first locked block, the Mathematics block, or a specific type of mistake.
