Before you start, have

  • Your Class XI Physics textbook or notes
  • Paper and pen, plus a notebook for a recovery and error record
  • Authorised chapter-level Physics practice and combined Physics-Chemistry practice
  • A timer
  • Your current Class XII study plan

Heads up: This guide uses the MHT-CET 2026 official syllabus and paper rules. Check the current official syllabus before applying it to a later examination year.

Heads up: Do not treat historical chapter percentages as official chapter weightage. The published rule here is the Class XI and Class XII split.

Heads up: Do not use a Physics-only timer as the final exam check, because Physics shares its first 90 minutes with Chemistry in MHT-CET PCM.

In brief

MHT-CET 2026 names 10 Class XI Physics units, which make up 10 of the 50 Physics MCQs. Diagnose the missing link first, repair those units in order, then use a mixed reattempt before returning most of your Physics time to Class XII, which supplies the other 40 questions.

  1. 1

    Diagnose the missing link

Write the official Class XI units in your recovery notebook. For each unit, try a representative question without notes and mark it as ready, relearn or blocked. Record where you stopped: reading the question, drawing the situation, choosing a relationship, handling units or calculating.

The official list contains Vectors, Error Analysis, Motion in a Plane, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Thermal Properties of Matter, Sound, Optics, Electrostatics and Semiconductors.

  2. 2

Schedule the official units into recovery blocks

Follow this editorial route beside, not instead of, your current Class XII work: Week 1 covers Vectors, Error Analysis, Motion in a Plane and Laws of Motion. Week 2 covers Gravitation and Thermal Properties of Matter. Week 3 covers Sound and Optics. Week 4 covers Electrostatics and Semiconductors. Week 5 is for mixed reattempts and your error record.

The MHT-CET Physics syllabus checklist explains why this list is the entrance-exam subset rather than a full Class XI restart.

  3. 3

Relearn each blocked unit from the first broken step

Use your Class XI material to repair the first failure you recorded. If you could not read the situation, draw it and name the quantities. If units caused the error, write the units beside each quantity. If you chose the wrong relationship, return to the worked explanation before attempting another question.

A repaired unit leaves you with a short note showing the trigger, the relationship used and the mistake to avoid.

  4. 4

Reattempt mixed questions and update the record

After each weekly block, mix questions from the units you have repaired. Reattempt the questions you missed after reviewing the error record, then add the new result beside the earlier one. Use a chapter-wise Physics PYQ plan if you need a structure for recording wrong, guessed and skipped questions.

  5. 5

Protect Class XII time with the actual paper format

Once the five-week recovery route is complete, return most Physics study time to current Class XII work while keeping the repaired Class XI units in mixed review. For a timing check, practise Physics with Chemistry in one 90-minute block. The State CET Cell’s 2026 information brochure says this is the first PCM block, it is auto-submitted, and there is no negative marking.

Use the 45-minute PCM error log after that combined practice to decide which unit returns to the recovery lane.

You'll know it worked when

Your notebook names all 10 official Class XI Physics units, shows a ready, relearn or blocked result for each, and includes a mixed Physics-Chemistry practice record completed within 90 minutes.

The official Class XI list is a narrower recovery lane than a full Physics restart. This editorial five-week map groups the State CET Cell’s named units, then finishes with the 90-minute Physics-Chemistry constraint from the 2026 syllabus and marking scheme.

Frequently asked

For MHT-CET 2026, the State CET Cell names ten Class XI Physics units for the entrance syllabus: Vectors, Error Analysis, Motion in a Plane, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Thermal Properties of Matter, Sound, Optics, Electrostatics and Semiconductors. This entrance-exam checklist does not replace any school or board work you still need to complete.
MHT-CET 2026 assigns 10 of the 50 Physics MCQs to Class XI and 40 to Class XII. Class XI repair matters, but pausing current Class XII learning until every old weakness feels perfect would put most of the published Physics question split at risk.
No. In MHT-CET 2026 PCM, Physics and Chemistry share the first 90-minute block, and that block is auto-submitted before Mathematics opens. Use Physics-only practice to repair a chapter, then use combined Physics-Chemistry practice when checking exam timing.
No. The procedure works with your own Class XI materials, an error record and authorised practice questions. A course can be an optional teaching format when you need explanations from basics, but it does not replace the diagnostic, reattempt and result-check steps in this guide.
A chapter is ready to move out of the recovery lane when your record shows the idea you missed, the correction you made and a successful reattempt without relying on notes. The final check is a mixed Physics-Chemistry practice block, because MHT-CET does not test Physics in isolation.
